Looks pretty but not impressed with how they work. Used 3 on a screen door.

This spring is junk
This spring is not worth the money. It loses tension over time, and is nearly impossible to re-tension. This morning, it literally fell apart -- my daughter opened the door, whereupon the pin came out and the spring assembly fell apart into multiple pieces. Headed for the scrap bin.

Overall quality
Four stars for this hinge is a bit high, but it is made of thick material and the design is unique. It is functional and nice looking on my screen door. Now the negatives: The screws supplied are inferior in that they are a commom head and the slot is both too narrow and too shallow to accomodate most screwdrivers. I replaced them with 1 5/8" phillips head on the frame side and 1" phillips head on the door side. Both obtained in bronze/black at Lowes/Home Depot. My door is 1" thick so the 1" screw did not penetrate the outer surface because the hinge is 1/8 " thick. The instructions (on the website ) for adjustment are misleading. When you insert an allen wrench/ nail into the square slots on the ratchet, you use the allen wrench as a lever to move the ratchet from left to right. This takes tension off the ratchet mechanism and allows the lower half of the ratchet to drop down. You hold tension on the upper half / move it a notch at a time from left to right to increase tension and right to left to decrease tension. The machining on the ratchet is not perfect in India so time will tell as to how the mechanism will hold up under use.

Screen door hinge
I bought 3 of these just over a year ago and 1 failed. The hinge pin broke. So just ordered another and I'm hoping that the failed one was just a dud. Another pointer- use a steel screw first if you're going into anything hard. Then replace with the brass screws. They will break.

Frustrated from
Frustrating!
No instructions on adjusting the "adjustable" hinges and the screws were absolutely frustrating! Flat bladed heads with a slot thin that I didn't own a hand held screwdriver or a drill bit that would fit in the slot. The screws were only 7/8" long which doesn't seem like much given the load they are carrying. The screw / hinge opening is a #6. So finding replacements was also a challenge!
