Don't buy ... You'll be sorry you did!
I bought this mail slot based on the internet specifications because it would be replacing a slot already cut through an antique door. This mail slot is very poorly engineered, so much so that it is impossible to install without significantly modifying the product or your door. After I spoke with a technician at Signature Hardware, we agreed the best thing to do was return the product. Buyer beware!

Want to Love it
I truly want to love this. The first set that we received had manufacturing scratches on the flap the faces inside the house. CS was wonderful, and immediately sent out another and advised us to donate the damaged one to Habitat for Humanity (so great!). I'm glad I waited until I received the second before doing that, though. The second was missing one of the hinges for the interior flap. And then when we assembled, the interior flap had been manufactured incorrectly, and the holes for the inside flap hinge were too tight. Some gentle pushing made one of the pegs snap off. So luckily we still had two of the hinges from the first box, but ultimately we had to use the scratched flap! Also, the design of the template to cut in the door leave very little room for error, it's not a very good design in that there's a notch left after cutting that the screws go into. Now that it is in place, it looks lovely. But I think there is some quality control that could be improved. We're living with the scratches.
